Mr. Nagin, this is how you should handle Bush the narcissist.

Make him spell out exactly HOW he messed up.

Narcissists are good at giving precisely what people want to hear.

Bush takes the Mayor onto AF1, permits him to shower aboard the plane, then tells him "we could have done better."

Mr. Nagin, I do hope you know that you're dealing with a sociopath. Please.

My first question to that response would have been, "Okay. I appreciate that. But tell me something - how EXACTLY could you have done better?"

Make the narcissist dance a bit. Make him do a little introspection. The simple fact is, narcissists CANNOT do any self-exploration.

I think, Mr. Nagin, it would be quite clear to you that you're dealing with pretty words just to soften you up a bit. Bush is a sociopath who let your people die. Now he wants to "make up" for it, because he knows he was caught.

Make the man dance a bit and you'll be surprised by what you'll see.

ridiculous red tape involved in getting aid where it is needed immediately. I can't believe the President wouldn't have the power to say that this is an emergency. Forget the damn red tape and get help where it is needed and work together cooperatively without having to report to this administrator and that one. That's bullshit when it is so evident that the catastrophy can't wait for that crap. People being turned away who want to help; doctors turned away...why?

Somehow, I don't think he will.
