there are a lot of interesting studies done in the field of forensic psychiatry; essentially exploring the linkage between sociopathic violence and inflexibility in thinking. googel away under that topic.

9. I've always felt so

I lived on the streets as a kid and was around some pretty rough folks. I can tell you the "me first" mentality is prevalent. So is "blame the victim" (ie: if they didn't want to be robbed they should have known better than to be on the street). I've got a bit more education now, and one of my dream projects is to do a study on this very topic. I have a few more anecdotal comparisons but I, too would love to see a study. I lived the shit. And I know it when I see it.
