How a REAL President Responds to Disaster

In Sept. 1999, while duly elected President Bill Clinton was on a working trip to Indonesia to meet with the Chinese president, Cat3 Hurricane Floyd started menacing the Carolina coast. What did he do? Did he strum a guitar? Did he eat cake? Did he lie to the troops about Serbia being just like WII? Did he lie to the nation and a hall full of sycophants about Medicare deformation?
NO, of course not! He declared the Carolinas a Federal Disaster Area before Floyd struck, mobilized the National Guard and military, cut short his working diplomatic trip, and flew home early to "personally" manage the natural disaster...

4. I wonder if those in the Carolinas are comparing and contrasting?
Could pick us up some votes in two Red states.

10. I have Just one Question for Bill Clinton.
Does he think George Bush II is earning that 100% pay raise he gave to all future Presidents?

12. This must be extremely true and documented
A repuke moron was on the radio Friday (Ed Schultz show) stating that Clinton did NOTHING and how he was down to 1 can of formula for his 9 month old and he had a 27 month old. Knew the govt. would not "take care of him". This needs to get out in full force and I'm glad Blanco hired

17. This should be used as a talking point, as proof of *'s incompetence
Imagine that! A president with enough foresight to nip the problem in the bud.

And this bunch was supposed to be "the grownups"?

6. Bush thougth FEMA did a pretty good job under Clinton,
and said so in the first debate with Al Gore:

BUSH: I -- you know, as governor, one of the things you have to deal with is catastrophe. I can remember the fires that swept Parker County, Texas. I remember the floods that swept our state. I remember going down to Del Rio, Texas.

And I've got to pay the administration a compliment. James Lee Witt of FEMA has done a really good job of working with governors during times of crisis.

But that's the time when you're tested not only -- it's a time to test your meddle. It's the time to test your heart, when you see people whose lives have been turned upside down. It broke my heart to go to the flood scene in Del Rio where a fellow and his family got completely uprooted.

BUSH: The only thing I knew to do was to get aid as quickly as possible, which we did with state and federal help, and to put my arms around the man and his family and cry with them.

But that's what governors do. Governors are oftentimes found on the front-line of catastrophic situations.

7. dunno about hurricanes, but after Northridge quake, Clinton was great
He came in and got things done. The freeway was recreated in weeks - a new Metrolink was up in days. He showed what a REAL President can and will do.

9. Remember how Clinton handled Oklahoma City.
He went down and offered solace and comfort to the injured and the families of victims. He threw his big arms around the city.

14. He caught the guys that bombed the WTC too.
Well not personally. But his watch was working and he wasn't asleep at the wheel. He knew it was time to the bad guys and provided for that. I'm Believe you know who planted the evidence in the police lockers on Wacko. Like daddy played hide the oil to sack Carter.

15. there weren't that were comparable to Andrew or Katrina
and that's because Clinton wasn't an evil motherfucker like Bush. The earth was in relative peace time. Sex (adultery or otherwise)has a tendency to keep people in control of their rage and hatred.
