Google September 24th
and the first ten links are about the ant-war protests in DC on 9/24/05.

I am seriously thinking of getting the white stick paint and writing on the rear window "Google September 24th". . folks with a curiosity and a computer will google it if they see it more than once. If they have no computer, they may ask personally. Then I tell them.
And then I give them the flyer. They are down loadable on the UPJ site.

September 24th Protest is officially about the end of the occupation in Iraq. I think it should be about the end of the occupation of the White House. Katrina has changed EVERYTHING. The incompetence is there for all to see now. There are many many people who have been pushed over the edge or off the fence, and they ain't landing in Bush's Rose garden, but rather in a lake. Lake New orleans. People have ultimately realized that we're all in this together, even Geraldo and Sheppard Smith get it. (http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/09/02.html)

The meaningless mantra of 'personal responsibility' ain't flying no more. No one believes that shit when babies have had the same diaper on for six days and senior citizens are floating in the river that used to be a street.

This president is at war with America. There is not a single policy that has benefited any human being in this country long or short term. It has benefited corporations only. Corporations ARE NOT FUCKING PEOPLE. America is not a nation of corporations, it is a nation of living, breathing, human beings who are made of flesh and blood and CONSCIENCE. CORPORATIONS HAVE NO CONSCIENCE. Even republicans are appalled. This president has caused more unnecessary death and destruction than any other American president in history (unless you count Truman, and I won't go there today). This president is the most ill equipped, uneducated, unread, unwise, unruly president in our history. He's a nut bar, and he has bankrupted our nation, created enemies everywhere, killed our own people as well as innocents overseas and made us LESS FUCKING SAFE. The boy who blew up frogs for fun as a kid and the Governor who mocked a repentant Christian on death row and the President who joked about no WMD under his desk as our young sons and daughters gave their life for his reckless unnecessary war must be forced out by the people. To think what he will do if he fulfills the rest of his term is too depressing to contemplate. It will give us all a disease.

There MUST BE A MASSIVE TURNOUT ON THE 24th. We simply cannot allow this continue any longer. He has to fucking go. I cannot wait another three years. I cannot wait until 2006 when the Dem's take back congress. I cannot stand the thought of that piece of shit making one more fucking decision on OUR behalf.

September 24th. Bush OUT NOW. The Dem's ain't leading here. We have to be the leaders.

13. Awesome post!
I'm with you. I am so fucking furious. It's time for us all to converge on the White House and not leave until he leaves. This can't be just a one day thing. We have to be in this for the long run.

I know many of us have jobs and responsibilities and bills to pay and mouths to feed. But it's time for us to pry ourselves from our computer screens and descend upon the White House.

We need to take our country back. This is beyond Cindy Sheehan (although she's a big part of it), this is beyond the war in Iraq (although that is a HUGE part of it), and this is beyond the tragedy in New Orleans (although that was the breaking point).

This is about saving our country and restoring democracy.

ever! I am sickened and ashamed right now of my government over the response to the disaster.

I don't need to recap all the reasons I was already pissed over the last five years.

This negligence in NOLA is horrific.

(Don't let the price of gas keep you from DC on 9/24. Just skip a meal out or a golf match or whatever so you can afford to go to DC.)

I'm catching a ride with the Columbus, Oh folks. $60 for bus fare - and a chance to sleep on the bus.

Just google...

Other than that, I'm bringing my food with me. It really shouldn't cost me much.

due to complications at work, but I hope 5 million people turn out and chant Bush and Cheney out of the White House!--and I will do everything I can here to help make that happen.

When Cindy Sheehan was protesting in Crawford, and there was discussion of the 9/24 march, I was thinking that I want to hear 5 million people roaring the word, "Why?" so that it resonates and shakes the Capitol windows and rumbles through the halls. Why did Casey Sheehan die? Why did anyone die? Why? Why? Why?

Maybe this is still a good idea. Why did anybody have to die in Louisiana except by accident at nature's hand? Why did babies die of dehydration? Why did old folks die of neglect? Why are people still dying there now of hardship and disease? Why? Why? Why?

I think there is an answer to this question--but not one Bush or Cheney would give. I think the answer is quite simply: Diebold and ES&S tabulating all our votes on electronic voting machines with SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code, and all the Republican criminals and corrupt or collusive Democrats who permitted that to happen--an INSANELY non-transparent and unverifiable election system.

I believe--on the basis of overwhelming evidence--that the American people voted the Bush Cartel out of office, and that we were robbed of that amazing victory, which occurred despite the filthiest political tactics and the biggest bunch of goddamned lies and propaganda that any people has ever been subjected to.

I won't go into all the evidence. You can read about the exit polls (Kerry won) and the TV networks FALSIFYING the exit polls to match the "results" of Diebold's and ES&S's secret vote tabulation formulae (Bush won), and the impossibilities of those numbers, and the electronic voting machines changing Kerry votes to Bush votes, and the outrages in Ohio, and the huge Democratic success in new voter registrations in 2004 (nearly 60/40!), and all the rest, at the "DU 2004 Election Results and Discussion Forum" and other sites. I just want to remind everyone of some peripheral, supporting evidence that I find emotionally as well as statistically compelling.

It is this: 58% of the American people opposed the Iraq war BEFORE the invasion--BEFORE all the lies were exposed; BEFORE the full horror and costs of it were known. Feb. '03. Across the board in all polls. 58%!

About half of that 58% opposed the war outright. The other half would only support a U.N. peacekeeping mission (world consensus)--not preemptive, unilateral war by Bush.

That number dipped only once, in the few weeks of the invasion when U.S. troops were at max risk, then went right back up to nearly 60%, where it stayed throughout the election. It is pushing 80% today.

The American people NEVER SUPPORTED this war. Never!

That is not a stupid, uninformed, hate-filled people. This is a peace-loving people!

And this is not a people who voted for George Bush, who had gone and done exactly what 58% of them opposed, and slaughtered tens of thousands of people, and imprisoned and tortured others. This is a people who saw through all the B.S.! This is a people who rose up, and stood in ten hour lines to vote, and voted the bastard out!

Another stat: 63% of the American people oppose torture UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. May '04.

This is not a fearful people. This is not an easily manipulated people. This is a people that sticks to their sense of ethics and humanity and lawfulness, despite relentless fearmongering.

And that's not all. When you look at all the issue polls over the last year, you find that the American people oppose every major Bush policy, foreign and domestic, way up in the 60% to 70% range. You name it. The Iraq war. Torture. Social Security. The deficit. Women's rights. The overwhelming majority of Americans disapprove of Bush on everything!

This is not a rightwing people. This is not a country in which there is any kind of rightwing surge--other than the ILLUSIONS of the war profiteering corporate news monopolies, and their TRUMPETINGS of rightwing blather. This is a peace-minded, human rights-minded, fair-minded, courageous, generous, tolerant, PROGRESSIVE people.

What's wrong here is NOT the people, but that the people have been DISENFRANCHISED.

Robbed of their votes, robbed of their right to vote, systematically defrauded of their birthright as Americans.

And it makes me sick--that their propaganda hasn't worked, and their lies haven't worked, and their control of the news media hasn't worked, and their fear tactics and repression and bullying haven't worked, and all the money in the world hasn't worked, and that the only way they could keep power in this progressive country was by utterly corrupting our election system and taking away our right to vote!

So, my program of reform is this: What say we dump Diebold's and ES&S's election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' (so to speak) (--or a Louisiana levee would do), and start over, with paper ballots hand-counted at the precinct level?

Canada does it in one day--although speed should not even be a consideration, only accuracy and verifiability.

Or, at the very least: paper ballot (not "paper trail") backup of all electronic voting, a 10% automatic recount, very strict security, and NO SECRET, PROPRIETARY PROGRAMMING CODE (...jeez!).

Why have people been dying in Iraq for oil and greed, at the orders of George Bush and Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld? And why are people needlessly dying in Louisiana, under a government that doesn't give a crap for their lives?

Because the will of the American people has been thwarted!
