The dead in NOLA will not be accurately counted, and here's why....

A government who refuses to honor their dead heroes of war, will certainly be immune to the honor of dead poor civilians. And with the entire city of NOLA under martail law, and under the reconstructive efforts of Halliburton et. al., let there be no doubt that the actual death toll will not be accurate.

IMHO, I believe that this administration has had its eyes on the 'fat' city for some time now. NOLA is a major U.S. port, supplies 25% of the U.S. oil supply, and is inhabited by many poor, whom they must have known had no means to escape in the event of a flood, because of their malevolent neglect. A city such as NOLA will easily be seized by these evil thugs in a time of war. Do you really think that this current administration cares about the living? Do you really think that we are currently in Iraq because of our love for freedom and democracy? How many innocent Iraqis have died there? We are at war because of oil and Iraq's strategic position. NOLA has oil and one of the most strategic positions in the U.S..

Just examine what they've done to the survivors of NOLA. They kept them without food, water, or communication for almost a week, and then divided them, so as to conquer their spirit of dissent and potential civil disobedience, and to discourage some of them from ever wanting to return to their once beloved city. When, if ever, do you imagine these citizens of NOLA to return? Many dead will be unaccounted for, and that will be by as much design as the design behind the refusal to honor the flag-draped coffins that return for their final journey home. Let there be no doubt that the actual death toll will not be accurate.

predicted at least 10K which will make hiding the death harder... adn also government officials are using thiousands now. My take... I hate to say it, 50K and now that may be a conservative number.

Nagin has seen people jump to their death in the Superdome... two of his officers killed themselves because they were so dispondent. These people are hanging onto anything they can to believe that they will be able to see their homes again, in some how, some way.

I heard the reporters on wwl when Hastert said "rebuilding NO would be unadvisable" rip him apart. They NEED to know that they have a future city to go home to...

Some will decompose before they get to them... and some... I hate to share the old trick... well if the whole family is dead... and there is nobody to look for them... they never existed... old trick... and used around the world.

when I read your post, it reminded me of what happened on Galveston.

They tried sending the bodies out into the Gulf - and about a week later, they came back.

God, it sounds awful. They had to burn the bodies in huge fires on the beach.
