I saw Broussard on MTP and I'm ashamed
ashamed that we let these good people down. That some son has to live the rest of his life knowing that his mother waited for help that never came. Help that should have come from us--her neighbors, wherever we live. We are the government. All of us. As long as we do not all hold our elected officials accountable we should all be ashamed because we determine who the government is in this country.
And if 51% of us don't understand this and don't understand the responsibility here, I for one will not stop reminding them until they do.

1. It's true. Saying 'the cavalry is coming' when
it really isn't is far worse than saying nothing.

3. And telling Wal-Mart to turn back with the water trucks because
Jefferson Parish didn't need it. It is indeed bureaucratic murder, as Broussard said.

2. That was heartbreaking.
And Sunday morning, after a Monday hurricane, Jefferson Parish had still not received the help they needed.

By the way, I suspect the son was Maestri, but I'm not certain.
