American troops in Iraq have mutinied against their officers.

September 4, 2005 -- US Embassy in Baghdad inquires into reports that American troops in Iraq have mutinied against their officers. WMR has learned that the US embassy in Baghdad is checking into reports that U.S. troops in Iraq, including National Guardsmen, Army and Marine Corps Reserves, and regular military troops from Louisiana and Mississippi, have mutinied against their officers and are demanding to be immediately sent back home to help their families. It is not known whether the reported mutinies involve physical violence. The reports of rebellions among U.S. troops are filtering out of the Green Zone and at Baghdad International Airport from Iraqis who are working alongside their American counterparts at both locations.

3. Ahem...look what else this blog says
"ALERT: WMR readers should be aware that web sites like Democratic Underground are "locking" information on the radio jamming in Louisiana and the corruption involved in FEMA hurricane disaster preparedness (IEM Team contract). Readers should also be aware that the Pentagon's technology blockade strategy extends to the Internet. Web sites like Democratic Underground and Daily Kos have a lot of explaining to do when they censor critical information during a national emergency. These web sites, along with Fox News and the other news sources with overt and covert political agendas, are not serving in the public interest and should be avoided as sources for important information. For example, some Daily Kos posters are questioning whether FEMA deliberately cut Jefferson Parish's emergency telephone lines. That is because many of those involved with Daily Kos and Democratic Underground are squishy Democrats with a pretty obvious agenda. - WM"

'squishy Democrats'

5. or how about people who stop believing people when they keep spouting
false or "unprovable" stories.

If you keep spouting stuff and it is never confirmed or debunked, then you don't have much credibility. Even when it is debunked, somehow it was "supposed" to just be a clue to something else...

7. So wayne when any of your stories pans out
I will believe it

That said, this is more than just terrible for morale and this is not that unlikely... but if this happens, (or happened) troops will be shot to regain control... you don't mutiny in a warzone and don't expect them to restablish order and discipline in Draconian ways

8. Two or three month ago there were reports of fraging.
Think about it. These guys have been locked into service. Tours extended. At one point Bush came back from one of his vactions to cancel theirs and extend their service. Now Bush comes back from another vacation and their families are dead or homeless. Yes they are loyal and dedicated. But they are also human.

But I would take this report with a grain of salt.

9. Well I have a brother in Iraq now >>>

He has confirmed this to me. That four guys in his unit HAVE BEEN ARRESTED by military police for just this, they wanna come home and help there families. I am expecting more from him by Tuesday. We will see because true or not, your right it will unfold.

I guess being new here I wasn't aware that certain sources were unacceptable. However I know the free thinking folks here are able to figure things out on there own.

Peace from a Blue State!!!

16. Wayne Madsen is a member of DU...
and his work isn't necessarily unacceptable, it just needs to be corroborated. All in all, his analysis has proven to be wrong more than once, and in this case, I'm inclined to think widespread dissatisfaction in the ranks doesn't equate to mutiny. At best, if this story is legit, it's nothing more then an Inquiry into a mutiny - no specifics. Who, what, where, when, and how....

17. The last media outlets to cover this if true
will be the American mainstream media.

It will first appear in blogs and the foreign press. If crushed soon, it will never appear in the American press.

12. This story smells
Why is the US Embassy investigating this when we havn't even heard a peep from the DOD. Seems they should be making a statement denying it ever occured before the State Department even looks at it. Either Rummy is too busy fighting Mother Nature in the Gulf to make a statement, or this is a bogus news story.

14. LOL, do you think Rummy would miss an opportunity to deny and...
shoot something as big as this down before it gains traction? I think Rummy's ego is too big not to attempt to do so.
