3. And what did Bush mean when he spoke of "Brownie"?
Is that Skull & Boner code for some kind of Jeff-Gannon-like fealty thing, or what? I mean talk about "suggestive"

9. I wouldn't poo-poo the idea quite yet
there's apparently lots of monkey business (pun intended)
between SA and the Bush Cartel and I'm sure they have a
few back door mechanisms to shuttle money back and forth...
it's not absurd that this might be one of them..
Afterall it seems more ridiculous that someone would go from
head of a horse association to head of one of the most critical
government agencies. How did that happen? Or more critically... why?

Bottomline... nothing that this administration does seems too surprising.
Evil.... yes. Criminal... Certainly. Surprising.... no.

10. No way
The Arabian Horse Association is responsible for monitoring the competitions for that specific breed. In the scheme of things in the horse world, this would be akin to the local Kiwanis organizations vs. the Red Cross. Although Saudis perhaps have a vicarious interest in this desert breed, their interests are really focused on Thoroughbreds.

Racing TBS are where the money is to be found. Arabs command jack shit monetarily (relatively speaking).

Now if you had said the Jockey Club, THAT may be a whole different kettle of fish.

11. It has nothing to do with anyone's government
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 09:53 AM by Lorien
an Arabian horse is a breed of horse, just as a Boston terrier is a breed of dog. Not all Boston terriers are owned by people from Boston. The local Boston government does not oversee any Boston terrier clubs in the AKC. Bloodlines of Arabian horses originated in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Poland. California, Florida, and Arizona are also centers for Arabian horse breeding. Most wealthy Arab families do own Arabian horses because of the cultural significance of the animals, but nothing more needs to be read into that. I once owned two half Arabian horses; they're not that difficult to come by. The International Arabian Horse Association is an organization focused on horse shows and show judging.
