23. That's right. They want to federalize it and they will do it either by
blaming local/state or by fomenting riots that need to be put down. They are going for dictatorship, right now. Putting Roberts in place will be a final key.

He's on the ground, so to speak, in the affected area, so he's in a better psoition than an empty suit from Washington to say.

7. Anethema to repubs
Since when did Repubs let go of the states' rights argument?

Federalizing anything, least of all emergency managmeent, should be the last thing on a republican's mind.

The Fiscal Responsibility Act
An amendment to the Constitution that would require a balanced budget, unless sanctioned by a 3/5 vote in both Houses of Congress (H.J.Res.1, passed by the US House 279-152, 1/4/95; rejected by the US Senate 65-35, 3/2/95), and provide the President with a line-item veto (H.R.2, passed by the US House 294-134, 2/6/95).

13. Operation Rove talking points are in full effect...
... hoe many times did he say the state and local effort were ineffectual? The old tired GOP bullshit repeated over and over until people start to believe it... You know the story, blame democrats over and over then give Bush all the credit for this alleged "great leadership" and show the pictures of him hugging the two black girls for the 2006 mid-terms...

Don't let them do this!!!

18. They are getting their talking points together and Bush is rounding up
the people most likely to be believed by those in the shelter to appear with. They are going to do a job on these people who have not had access to TVs or radios to know exactly what has come down.

We are their only link to reality after this is over.

25. Sure he does. You should see what FEMA and the Guard can do once
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 11:36 AM by BlueStateGirl
the Feds take control over a state Government.

http://www.sonic.net/sentinel/gvcon6.html

I found this last night while googling. I was trying to figure out why Bush would demand she Federalize the National Guard. It would be the equivalent of declaring Martial Law in the state. FEMA powers expand once that happens.

They can seize the media, seize oil aand gas, and even replace officials.

Of course they want control of the state.

We cannot let them bully their way into it.
