"The Manchurian Candidate" is now the president.

In the original film "The Manchurian Candidate," the plot was that communists were trying to get a candidate, brainwashed by them, into the presidency.

Well, it turns out, they didn't need to waste their time. Junior has fulfilled almost all the goals our enemies of yesteryear were seeking.

He lied us into a war that never should have happened. He's bankrupted our economy (China holds most of our debt). He has decimated the Constitution (most of our rights are down the sewer). He has okayed torture and destroyed our reputation for decency. And in the worst disaster since San Francisco was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake, Junior played golf, played the guitar and ate cake, when he should have been mobilizing all of our federal resources.

There are too many ignorant people who don't see, and will never grasp, the devastation and dishonor this hollow man has brought upon this country. And there are those who do see it and think it's just fine with them.

But the rest of us know we're stuck with "The Manchurian Candidate" for almost 3 1/2 more years. All we can hope for is to win back the house and senate next year and holding Bush & Company responsible for their despicable crimes.

Just don't get anywhere near Georgie with the Queen of Hearts.
