But seriously, something has to be done. It is in the midst of a crisis that the research/response/interactive nature of DU is essential. We are the anti-meme, we are the counter psy-ops force, and we have to function in real time when the world has gone to shit.

I've used Google to search DU in the past to some effect. It's a bit of a lottery because Google will not always notice new threads but it's worth a go. If the thread was very active there's a good chance Google knows about it.

What you need to do is add "site:www.democraticunderground.com" to the end of your search query. For example, the following link lists all the pages on DU where your username appears.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&as_qdr=all&q=Warren+Stupidity+site%3Awww.democraticunderground.com&btnG=Search&meta=

If Pirate Smile knows the name of the thread or who the author was, it may prove lucky.
