2. Vote of No Confidence
Can we ask for that at least......

Though impeachment and being tried would be better.

3. I sent this to my (R) Rep and Senators.
I am writing to tell you how ashamed I am of my Federal Government's failure to respond to the natural disaster which was immediately made worse by the man-made disaster of a response. I am appalled that four years after 9-11 with all the bragging that this administration does about "keeping us safer here at home" that they were so ill prepared to deal with a disaster that WAS foreseeable. The fact that FEMA has been dismantled combined with the fact that the levee projects in New Orleans were grossly underfunded only made things worse. This colossal failure of a response to American citizens, NOT "REFUGEES" as you refer to them on your website, is completely unacceptable. People have died, and more are dying still, because of this failure. It is a shameful thing to see. It is disgraceful that America could not respond to its people on Monday afternoon, or Tuesday. This is America. Word of the storm was out the weekend before but no preparations were ready for these people, the weakest people, the sick, the poor, the elderly...those of you in Government who call yourselves "Christian" should be ashamed of yourselves. I am so disgusted with and outraged by my government right now I cannot even express it. How could my Government fail me in such a huge and public way? How could they not be prepared in a "post 9-11" world? I hope that you and your colleagues are unable to "spin" your way out of this one. I hope that the American people will see your true colors. I hope that we will understand the "Republican" vision of government by this clear example. There is no need for you to send me one of your form letters, they only add insult to injury!

4. I did it over the weekend
Also, your Congressperson. The two Barbara's (Lee and Boxer) will do something. Maybe even Difi will wake up from her coma.

5. keep it up
keep the pressure on at least twice weekly. Change the message each time - keep it brief and to the point.
We have no shortage of points to address.

6. Mine: just sent to my senators, about to be sent to my Rep.
The worst natural disaster in the history of the United States has exposed the Bush Administration for what it really is: rich cronies who don't really care about the common populace, masquerading as Christians and yet not following that most basic tenet of Christ's teachings:

"For what is done to the least of these, is also done unto me".

A special session of Congress was called and a law written for ONE WOMAN, and an expensive plane trip from Crawford to Washington DC was taken for the signing of a piece of legislation to benefit ONE PERSON's FAMILY, but George Bush could not cancel his public appearances, or stop his vacation or at least give some semblance of being concerned when literally thousands of citizens dangled by a hair over an absymal pit of toxic waters. There is just no excuse for this whatsoever.

George Bush and his guitar picking, cake eating, fundraising while a great city drowned is beyond unforgivable: it is criminal. Did it not even occur to him to at least exhibit some semblance of common decency and talk to the nation a time or two; after all, it isn't as if Katrina just spontaneously appeared like a tornado! The whole world knew she was coming; Bush could have at least acted like he was aware.

And where were the Congress? Could not a Special Session been called since the president obviously wasn't going to do anything?

Every Senator and every Representative needs to look very closely at the events of the past week and think: what if this had been MY city/state?

Do you honestly think it would have been different if it had been Houston or Galveston or Corpus Christi? If it would have been that is despicable, because it proves that it is only important to save the rich, and if it wouldn't have been that is also despicable, as it proves that this administration really doesn't have a clue and doesn't give a damn.

I honestly do not think we can survive as a nation until 2008 under this administration.
