Amending Proclamation 7461, Display of the Flag at Half-Staff As a Mark of Respect for the Victims of the Incidents On Tuesday, September 11, 2001

A Proclamation



By the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to extend the display of the flag at half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the terrorist attacks on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, it is hereby ordered that Proclamation 7461 of September 11, 2001, is amended by deleting in the first sentence the words "Sunday, September 16" and inserting in their place the words "Saturday, September 22."

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-sixth.

He ordered them at half staff days following 9-11..........but what about now? Has he ordered them at half staff for the victims of this hurricane, yet? I do realize that he ordered them at half staff for the CJ.

for 9 11. It has taken SIX days and the death of the Chief Justice to have them lowered to half staff this time. Pathetic.

Edited to correct: Damn, he signed the 9 11 proclamation on 9 11 so it wasn't even 3 days, it was immediately and, as well, he didn't sign the proclamation re hurricane victims until TODAY, after he had already ordered them at half staff YESTERDAY for the CJ.

He asked someone to find out when Bush had the flags lowered for September 11. While reporting that Bush had (finally) asked for flags to be lowered for Katrina victims, he noted that they were lowered for Rehnquist first, and openly questioned what took so long for him to lower them for Katrina....

It should serve as a constant reminder that somewhere, a Mother's son has been slaughtered so *² can be a "war president".:puke:
