Not sure if there were any WWII congresspeople against regular old people you can say so. Stevens dont lie I know WWII this isnt WWII for so many reasons we actually had a noble leader back then.

5. Hmm, maybe he should also point out that W threatened

to veto any budget legislation which was one dollar over the amount that he demanded.

Add to that the fact that since 1/3/1995, The Repukes have held both houses (except for a brief period of time where the Dems had a slight lead, thank you Jeffords). The only real change in the reins of control was that the last legally elected President left office 1/21/2001, and placed it into the hands of W.

And then, there has been no budget proposal passed through both houses which did not cater to W's whims. Jeffords cast his vote FOR the budget/tax cut the day before he jumped ship.
