Heard on the news in Chicago she visited victims in the astrodome and will tape a show there tomorrow.

she was roundly criticized by the black community of chicago for not bothering to break from her vacation to attend john johnson's funeral. a man who did a *lot* for her career.

criticism of oprah, as criticism of martha, can be well deserved. i like and criticize them both. gee, an equal opportunity critic. pffft!

Interesting that Travolta just showed up where food was needed, with a lot of food.

Oprah goes down to put people on TV and earn her some income. I bet that show will sell a lot of advertising, make money for Harpo Industries, and set her up with another home.

Fucking opportunist.

Oh, and before someone decides I'm a racist, let me say: you're the only one who cares that she's black. I don't. I don't see her as "black", I see her as an opportunist. Color ain't got nothing to do with it.

If Jerry Springer goes down to a place that WASN'T hit by the hurricane in order to interview people and make money on his show, he'd be just as much of an opportunist.

If Whoopi Goldberg drives a semi full of medical supplies into New Orleans, then she's a hero.

What's with the obsession about race?

Sorry if it offends your sensibilities, but I feel perfectly fine criticising the behaviors of people of any color, any country, any class, any race, any sexuality, any whatever, if they need it.
