Evacuees have no coffee in Houston
Ask Starbuck's to help:

Starbucks Coffee Company Information
(Corporate Social Responsibility, Investor Relations, etc.)
http://www.starbucks.com/customer/contact_forms.asp?nav=3f

Ask for a response. Here's what I wrote:

The evacuess at the Houston Astrodome, Reliant Center and George R. Brown Convention Center do not have coffee. Have you considered donating a supply and the staff to serve it?

even look at their website unless you allow them to set a cookie on your computer.

Which tells me everything I need to know about what assholes they are.

4. Who cares?
At this point...we're trying to get basic needs met. And frankly, in sleepless times, a little caffeine can keep you going.

These people's lives are shattered, and any company that ponies up any goods should not be turned away.

5. You can request organic coffee at most Starbucks locations,
and also organic milk or soy milk if you prefer.

not supporting a company's philantrophic deeds because one of its products has genetically modified ingredients is akin to retardation. no offense.

10. Kroger's? HEB? Randall's? I wonder what the
affiliations are with the grocery stores; maybe a campaign to them would be more effective? (I'm biased; I don't like Starbucks much).

13. Call Brand Coffe Service Inc. in Houston!
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 10:42 AM by anarchy1999
1-800-577-2408
1110 Washington Ave
Houston, TX 77002

It's conveniently located close to the Astrodome, is one of or is the largest coffee service company in Houston. At least 10 years ago they were the largest buyer of Folgers in the nation, that may have changed though.

(How do I know, just trust me, I used to know one of the owners, David Harrison, if he hasn't donated he sure ought to be. Someone make the call for me, I can't its personal.)

14. Procter & Gamble = Folger's Coffee, Pampers, etc
I had posted something earlier about folks here writing to P&G about providing diapers, since they are the world's largest manufacturer (Pampers). They could aslo supply coffee. Here's their website: http://www.pg.com/products/usa_product_facts.jhtml

Also, the corporate headquarters is located in Cincinnati if you'd rather call directly. Offhand, I do not have the number.
