USS Bataan Waited For Days For Orders To Help Out
Criticism of the federal government's response is also coming from some unlikely sources including the Pentagon. Lt. Commander Sean Kelly, a Pentagon spokesman for the Northern Command, revealed on the BBC that NorthCom was prepared to send in search and rescue helicopters from the USS Bataan almost immediately after the hurricane hit.
He said, "We had things ready. The only caveat is: we had to wait until the president authorizes us to do so."
That authorization didn't happen for days even though the ship was docked just outside New Orleans. On board the ship had doctors, hospital beds, food and the ability to make up to 1000,000 gallons of water a day.

For this alone I say that G.W. Bu$h*t alone stands to blame for the death's of thousands of the Federal Victims of Katrina!

1. And again, the question is WHY?
A ship like that has plenty of room for personel, hospital resources and plenty of food and water.

2. Should Admiral Keating haved risked a cout martial and gone on in?
It would have been a humanitarian relief operation.

6. Yes, he should have, and his ironclad defense would be that he
would be serving his oath to defend the American people, whether he was actually authorized officially or not. He, in effect, could "assume" that he would be ordered to go in, since no other possibility is consistent with his general mission. If Bush had ordered him NOT to go in, he could lawfully have disobeyed that order, couldn't he? It would be hard to prosecute him, since his actions would have turned out to be correct.

"we had to wait until the president authorizes us to do so."

5. Incompetent, more like criminal
no matter how hard the Rovian spin machine attempts to put the blame on the state, and the local authorities. They can't escape this item of truth that comes from their Pentagon.

Has anybody heard of this report on our so called mainstream media?
I have not! They in my opinion are just as guilty for not reporting the truth. which by the way they cannot see pass their Mercedes and million dollar homes.
