Why haven't we had a National Day of Mourning?
Why? I am ashamed.

Peace.

1. Because shrub doesn't care about any one who isn't wealthy.
Yes we need a national day of mourning, but unless shrub can grab a photo op, it will not happen.

2. What about the flags?
The flags were ordered to be flown at half-mast following the Asian tsunami. Has there been a similar order with respect to the victims of the hurricane and Bush indifference?

4. Yes, finally, though only after the press was asking about it........
as for a day of mourning, surely we will have that when the recovery process is further along. When the magnitude of what has happened can really sink in. Then people can have a better "feel" for whom they are mourning....the tens of thousands of souls.

3. Why not a moment of silence even. No mourning, we got to get on
with our lives. We don't need to care about the Hurricane victims.

5. How about we wait for people to stop dying, first.
This tragedy is not over yet....

9. I agree
It's going to get much worse.

Then we can truly mourn all those lost.

7. When the rescuing and saving of lives stops....
we can start to mourn. Until then, there's work to be done.

11. I see your point. However, we were rescuing people in NY...
there was a National Day of Mourning. Right?

Peace.

10. Why? Because uncle Dubya don't care 'bout no poor Negroes!
Sorry about the faux-racism, mods. But someone had to say it.
