5. Gibson tried some freep crap...
See my posting below. But Gibson tiptoed around Smith the entire time. I don't think JG felt he could get away with what typifies his reporting - the sarcasm and smarminess he's known for. He tried to point a finger only at state and local gov't but Smith diverted that by saying that news organizations have to ask the tough questions of all.

My opinion is that Smith handled it well. I think there has to be a lot going on behind the scenes regarding Smith.

3. When Gibson said the people knew this could happen...
Smith corrected him by saying "officials" to correct Gibson's use of the word "people". Smith is not completely reverting to freeper-think & speak.
