There cannot be a mass grave in New Orleans
because there are NO graves in New Orleans. The cemeteries are above ground because of the water table.

STOP THIS SILLY MASS GRAVE RUMOR!!

There are far more important things to discuss.

9. It's true that is the reason for the above ground tombs
The coffins would float up each time it flooded. They began the above ground tombs (St. Louis 1) in the 1780's. I forget the precise date at the moment.

They can't do something like a mass grave in a city below sea level, however. The gasses would be forced out of the ground and it would be obvious.

5. Of course it won't be in New Orleans
That wouldn't be nice for all the new development.

The mass graves are more than rumours. They just won't be there.

6. Actually they are talking about property outside the city of NOLA
There were several articles today about medical examiners being brought in.

They are looking to purchase property outside the city to the north.

10. Not according to this.
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgerenquirer/news/nation/12555489.htm

When the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team is able to recover the bodies, they will institute an emergency plan to take DNA and available identification then bury them in temporary mass graves. That plan is sensitive and has never been instituted in the United States before, but is necessary, according to Federal Emergency Medical Agency spokesman Marty Bahamonde,

"This is so massive, it requires that," Bahamonde said. "We realize that people that have been evacuated won't get back for days or weeks."

8. The relief efforts have gove so badly
that by the time many bodies are found they will be un-identifiable. As horrifying as that is we need to mentally prepare for the worst.
