10. we can't count on this..
winning in 2006 depends on how many of those effected will be registered to vote, and our efforts to recruit competitive Congressional candidates in Republican districts across the south.

12. Sadly, I believe Many will not
There will be homelessness like this country hasn't seen since the Great Depression. I don't see how those who were already living on the edge will ever be able to get "back on their feet." :(

4. Other.
My cat's breath smells like cat food.

It might not rock the entire south, but Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama will be left to think hard.

5. No. Gay marriage is going to defeat Democrats at every turn
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 10:53 PM by MrTriumph
Drowing poor poeple in NO? Needless war in Iraq? High gas prices?

You'd think that would have some impact. But write it down: Gay marriage is going to defeat Democrats at every turn in the South.

6. I wish..
But I'm a skeptic when it comes to my fellow Southerners.

The one area where I see cracks are suburban women. The men are as hardheaded and stoopid as ever. We need to play to moderate suburban women. This is how the Democrats win in Louisiana - they run a moderate white woman from Republican territory. The Republican opponent's advantage in Red country is eroded just enough such that (1) this erosion, (2) plus the cities' votes, (3) plus a women's vote boost - brings Democratic victory.

8. We've got to make it less about ideology
And more about important issues. The Republicans deflect the important issues with their ideology and social issues without discussing important things. If we can get around that, then we could have a chance.

Bush is the WET DREAM of the NASCARWHITESOUTHERNWANNABEGUNNUT in every male in the country with an IQ of less than 99, which according to the weighted average of the test is the vast majority.
