There's a lot on TV about the Roman Empire, lately.
It seems to be the fashionable thing, talking about empire. Well, when a leader in the Roman empire was responsible for a catastrophe to the nation, the honorable thing to do was to fall on his sword.

As they seem to enjoy seeing America as the new Roman empire, I hereby call upon Chertoff, Brown and Bush to do the honorable thing.

2. Very telling isni't it?
The similarites are striking. Very subliminally; I think we are tracking our own destruction. Cycles; you know; and that damned rule about history repeating itself. Go figure.

3. Quoting P.K. Dick -- "The Empire Never Ended"
It drove him nuts. Well, that and the amphetamines.

Chimpy played air guitar while New Orleans drowned.

8. A couple of movies
It's all about empire.

Within the last year, "Alexander" and "Troy".

I agree that it's a little eerie....

But I guess projects like the tv production of the rise of Hitler is considered too controversial, or obvious, for comparisons to the present day.

I saw a show tonight on History Channel that -- believe it or not -- referred to Roman "Family Values." About how Augustus set himself the task to bring morality to Rome.

This is how it can be in the entertainment biz -- you are not permitted to confront the empire and emperor directly, but you can indirectly....
