Folks, the show has been over for a long time...
We just continue to hold our hands over our ears screaming "LALALALAL" so we can't hear the fat lady singing her ass off.

If something like NO happened in Russia, or France, or Italy, or England, or CANADA, the government would already have been hit with "no confidence" and voted out. Here, where the New Stalin reigns supreme with his "Politburo," the game is OVER.

You want things to change? Wait until AFTER the coming revolution, then work for it.

Even though I consider myself a Neosocialist, I never thought Lenin would be proved right.

I actually heard a co-worker bitching this morning about Sharpton and Jackson "...playing the 'race card' in New Orleans..." I just about went insane for about 5 minutes giving him a piece of my mind, and then it struck me: IT'S FUTILE, KIDS. If Bush could stay in office after 9/11, the Recession, the Gas Prices, the IRAQ WAR sans WMD'S AND NOLA, the only thing that will get him and his future replacements from running things will be armed insurrection.

I'm just too old for that, and I've got a family to worry about. Thank DOG that the Canadian Immigration continues to move forward.

1. Stop it!!! Thisdefeatist attitude is worst than Rovian spin!
When you feel like giving up, think about the Revolutionary War. Or if that's too long ago to be relevant, think about the civil rights movement. How hard was THAT? Fucking HARD! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

4. Okay, slam ME, while you LET your country go down the drain.
Okay. Whatever. Don't even try, then.

5. I've been working for political change since 1967.
And I've had it.

You want to bang your head against a wall? Feel free. But if you can watch what Bush and his gang have pulled over the last 5 years, PLUS the Impeachment of Clinton, and STILL say there's hope with a straight face, I say you're kidding yourself.

8. You want to man the barricaides? Feel Free.
I'm too old and tired to storm the Bastille, and I'd rather my children and wife live through the nutsy shit soon to come.

Try taking a minor in History. It'll give you some perspective.

Did you REALLY expect THE ALMIGHTY UNITED STATES OF GODDAMNED AMERICA to last FOREVER? Or that it even SHOULD? States evolve or DIE: look at England. We refuse to evolve, and factionalism has become law: read Lincoln.

Hey, you wanna fight? More power to you. I'm not going to stop being Neosocialist; I'm just going to fire Sancho Panza, and stop tilting at windmills.

You can have my lance if you want.

9. Know what? This shit is new to me, but yeah. I'll do what I can, and may
be I'll learn the lessons you learned all over again. But at least I'm trying and not shitting on other people's efforts to try. If you think this is not the way to go, propose an alternate effort, and make a logical argument for it. I for one am NOT resistant to "revolt," although it's frankly scary for me.

I'm just trying to do what I can, I see potential, and I don't think discouraging people is the way to go. If you have a better way, tell people about it and, like I've been saying about MSM, encourage it!

We're on the same side, understand. There's no reason to shit on each other.

10. Your first reply left ME feeling like the Toilet paper...
Some of us "oldies" who took tear gas against Nixon get more than a little fiesty when the "kids" start challenging our credibility.

Soldiers do not fight forever; they get killed that way.

11. I'm sorry if I made you feel badly. I just want to encourage
everyone to keep trying. I do understand the frustration, at least to some degree, even though you've been through it much longer than me.

Peace.

12. Peace
W. C. Fields once said, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. THEN give up: no sense in being a damned fool."

I want to sit in my little shinto temple I'm building and practice Zen and the Tea Ceremony. If the odds in my family run true, I've only got 10-15 years left, tops. I have no intention of spending them on politics. I've had enough heartache for two lifetimes.

Not to say you should not fight the fight as you perceive it: just recognize that without political/social evolution, systems lifespan shorten to their endpoints much faster, but reach them eventually they shall.

6. Thanks.
Sometimes the only way to deal with a disaster is to get sarcastic and ironic.

Damn shame it's starting to turn out to be the truth.

13. I know how you feel.
Most of the people in this country are mean or stupid, and both. Yet, they still have good qualities too. I'm afraid our current government is driving us off a cliff, but most of the people are too politically ignorant to see it.
