Wait - should we be backing Arnold?
He has expressed some progressive values - pro gay, pro abortion rights (?) This will piss off all the regressive conservatives. This would provide fodder to TORTURE them for years!

Maybe, in this upsidedown black is white world, maybe resistence isn't the best thing. Maybe this is just Giving them enough rope? It seems to have worked on Iraq, the Whitehouse just had the chair kicked out from underneath. Is Arnold another poison pill for the GOP?

My feeling for CA is, if you elect him, you deserve him...

Can he be held to the 'sales' positions he has taken? If he doesn;t hold them up then there is a justified reason for Total Recall of Arnold...

Tell me this is a stupid idea.

1. Hmmmm...

He has expressed some progressive values

If you believe anything a republican says you still haven't learned your lesson yet.

6. Thanks for the clarity

Remember Bush ran as a slightly right of center moderate. He governs hard right. Harder right than even Buchanan would, as evidenced by Buchanan's complaints about Bush.

We must never forget Arnold is a popular Austrian immigrant, he's backed by fascists, paid for by corporatists, and he's rising to power on propaganda and popular opinion manipulated by the media.

The last time this happened Hitler killed millions. Don't underestimate Arnold this time around.

3. It's a stupid idea.
As nice as his positions on certain issues are, he is still someone with absolutely no experience that would enable him to run a big state with serious financial problems. California doesn't deserve what will happen if he's in charge.

5. I don't care for it because it rewards cheating. Also,
California doesn't deserve this. Its a bad precedent to begin with.

7. Arnold, if he wins, will be a puppet. He's an ACTOR for chrissakes
I'm wish Bill Maher. How is Arnold more qualified than Gary Coleman?

He's not.

Larry Flynt is more qualified. At least he's run a business empire.

What has Arnold ever run? Nada. Not even his own money. Guys like Arnold always have business managers to do it for them.

Arnold is a joke. A sham.

8. Arnold is a JOKE but the recall election shouldn't have even have HAPPENED
Whether or not Arnold is a moron or not (clearly he is), whether or not Arnold has even the slightest clue as to what to do (he doesn't), whether or not he's even the the biggest joke in politics since, well, since Bush, all of this is negated by the simple fact that the recall should NEVER HAVE HAPPENED in the first place. The recall is nothing more than a GOP lead to cancel out Democratic victories (Gray won FAIR AND SQUARE) and deliever California, the promised land, to Bush. That's what the recall is about, and NOT Arnold.
Screw Arnold, but don't forget that the recall is really screwing Democracy at large.
