E-mails pouring in.
They are reading both negative and positive responses.
Some are really brutal against the people of New Orleans for not leaving.....
Some say FIRE everyone involved.

You can imagine what most are writing....placing blame on the people or city and state government.

here's my email:
We should fire a LOT of people,

“Brownie” should be the first to go, before he does anymore damage. His FEMA has been preventing help from getting in from the word go, and there is lots of documentation and information on this. I will absolutely be “pointing fingers” (what a childish expression) about this because the American people will DEMAND accountability.

Another childish expression is the “blame game”. This is no game, and every time an administration spokes person uses it, I realize that we are being governed by petulant children.

How many people have to die before Bush decides that a mistake was made by someone in his administration and starts doing something about it without being pushed into action by outraged citizens?

Are people really that ignorant or is there an astroturf campaign going on?

Fire the media for asking the question? Fire Nancy Pelosi? WTF????

I sent off an email a few minutes ago. Not very good because I was so mad when I wrote it:

The media is finally asking the right questions and now they are being
criticized by the Bush apologists.

What happened to accountability? What happened to being the party of
personal responsibility?

Bush is personally responsible for all but dismantling FEMA, appointing
political croneys instead of qualified individuals, spending too much time
vacationing and wasting BILLIONs on the completely useless Department of
Homeland Security.

I can't listen to another foolish dittohead make excuses for Bush's
incompetence. If the best this administration can do in a time of crisis
is to take a week to bring help to those in need, then it is time for
them to step down and let more capable people take over.

We pay taxes for the government to protect and defend us, not for them to
go on endless vacations and fundraisers while we perish.

Should someone be fired ...

Absolutely. Start with where the BUCK STOPS! The Oval Office and then go from there to the FEMA Director, Homeland Security, and quit blaming the City Mayor or the Governor! They only have so much money to spend within state and local government. With the bleeding of federal tax dollars for Bush's follies in Iraq and other places, state and local governments across the nation have tighter budgets. Wake up, America! The Emperor is naked!

CNN Daybreak has been freeped, judging by the letters Chad and Carol are choosing to read.

More than just lives and property were lost with Hurricane Katrina and resulting flood.

The incompetent response by federal authorities has also destroyed the credibility of the Bush administration and destroyed faith in our countries abilities to cope with disasters.

We were reminded many times during the 2004 campaign - "we are safer with Bush". Right now I don't feel very safe.

The state and local officials did all they could with the resources they had. In fact, an 80% evacuation rate for a major city facing a devestating hurricane is an unprecedented evacuation success.

The failure in response time came from the federal agencies, and thus the following five people should be fired:

1) William Lokey as the the Federal Coordinating Officer

2) Michael D. Brown, Under Secretary for Emergency Preparedness and Response

3) Michael Chertoff, Secretary of Homeland Security

4) Richard B. Cheney, Vice President and head of the Office of National Preparedness

5) George W. Bush, President of the United States.

I called it the Drowning of New Orleans and used my line about

I pointed out that people had done what they were told and then they were left to die -- that the message people in other states should take away from this is "You are on your own" in case of a catastrophic event.

I'm disgusted by the emails they've been reading all morning. Most of them are full of Karl Rove talking points. I couldn't believe my ears. Now I have to find a way to change my attitude before I start work. I'm looking angry right now.

told them to fire anyone who delayed help getting to these people-Brown,Chertoff and Bush.I also said it was morally reprehensible that halliburton's contract was finalized while people were still dying of thirst and hunger.
