During a national disaster, conservatives are not going to finger-point or play the blame game, they are going to STFU
If, during a major national disaster, the President plays with a guitar and cracks moronic jokes, the Vice President disappears, senior cabinet members go to Broadway shows, shop for shoes, and go to Baseball games, conservatives are going to STFU.
If, during a major national disaster, the Democratic President continues to stay on vacation, conservatives are going to STFU.
If, when informed of a major terrorist attack, the Democratic President just sits and stares blankly for seven minutes, conservatives are going to STFU.
If this President gets us into a war based on lies and then runs it poorly, conservatives are going to STFU.
If a major terrorist attack occurs, and the leader of that attack of it is not captured, conservatives are going to STFU.
If there are runaway deficits and the President never vetoes a spending bill, conservatives are going to STFU.
If gas prices are 3 or more dollars per gallon, conservatives are going to STFU.
If a top administration official purposely outs a Covert CIA agent, conservatives are going to STFU.

The one exception? If the Democratic President has consensual sex in the Oval office and lies about it due to embarrassment, then they won’t STFU.

1. Can you please use the term "Democratic"? "Democrat" is a RW slur.
Thank you. Spot on post, BTW.

7. Thank you for changing the wording. This is an issue that drives me nuts
on a daily basis. Randi Rhodes uses the term the wrong way too, sometimes. I've noticed that using the term "Democrat President" (or Democrat whatever)is mostly exclusive to RW hate radio and Republican politicians and pundits. It's two nouns instead of an adjective and a noun. It's a deliberate attempt to dissociate democratic (little d) values from the Democratic party and individual Democrats (big D.

3. WHY WAIT???
whats with people and waiting. Its not as if we "have" to allow Bush and co, to continue their pillaging of the nation. Enough voices can take care of that in a week. Lets get on that.

4. I firmly believe there will be no elections for president in 2008
at least not legitimate ones.

Unless we impeach Bush now, and vote out EVERY republican in 2006, there will be no possible way for a democrat to be president.

because: he is experimenting with suspending posse comitas.

wrap your head around that little bit of data.

he will either change the constitution to allow multiple terms of office, or he will declare martial law and suspend elections.

5. I'VE HAD A THEORY ABOUT THIS FOR A WHILE...
...I believe he will admit, that through no fault of his own, there was election fraud in Y2K, he was awarded the Presidency by the courts and was actually not elected, so 2004 was his first term, and he's entitles to another.

6. If we manage to get someone elected despite Diebold
and the media remains as it has been -- conservatives will not STFU. They will point out any silly thing and turn it into a major scandal, with rightwing talking head parroting the same BS on down the line. You can't point out to them what this gang of thugs did, because they don't care/have the attention span of gnats/will dismiss it as liberal bias.

Look at it this way. The same media that made "Whitewater" -- a non-story if there ever was one -- into a HUGE frontpage "scandal" buries stories about real scandals in this administration -- remember Enron/Cheney's role in California's energy scam? remember Bush ignoring 9-11 warnings? remember the Downing St. minutes? -- all buried, along with countless others.

I hate to be pessimistic, but the system is rigged thoroughly against the truth. Change will take a looong time. However, the more power they have, the more power they have, the more power they have, etc.
