FEMA *STILL* Blocking Firefighters and Police From Entering New Orleans
http://www.informationliberation.com/index.php?id=1079

Michael D. Brown, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency — who is under fire for the agency's slow response to the flooding — said Wednesday that scores of police and volunteer firefighters from around the nation, as well as trucks loaded with donated water, were even now being prevented from entering New Orleans while troops conduct house-to-house searches.

"They can't just yet," Brown said during a briefing in Baton Rouge. "There is going to come this natural time when we will release this floodgate of cops and firefighters who want to help. It's the same for anyone who wants to volunteer — we have over 50,000 offers of donations from the private sector. It has to be coordinated in such a way that it helps."

Numerous state and local officials in Louisiana have accused FEMA of making the situation worse with red tape and a hesitant response immediately after Katrina slammed into the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

"I'm asking Congress, please don't send any more money to FEMA," said Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), a staunch critic of the agency. "Send it directly to the local officials." But White House officials said $50 billion of the new aid package, supplementing $10.5 billion approved last week, would be routed to FEMA.

1. Michael Brown has a different directive
If food and water is readily available, he won't be able to starve the holdouts out of New Orleans. And that will interfere with the federal government's plan to burn what's left of New Orleans to the ground while everyone's away.

I have a suggestion: Ignore him. Go in anyway. FEMA can't fight a battle on two fronts, they're going to adapt and use you, not kick you out. Walk through them, past them, around them. There aren't enough of them to stop you.

2. A fire Captain...
I met on the plane yesterday told me that he and his men, being deployed to NOLA were told to go to Atlanta to 'wait'. They had been told that there was no assurance of transportation from there and did not know how long they would be waiting before moving on to NOLA. They expect to be gone 30 days in all.

5. 2,500 PA. National Guard in La. Still Waiting for something to do
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/12583517.htm

"But two frustrating days after arriving in Louisiana, more than 2,500 Pennsylvania National Guardsmen were still awaiting orders ... in Alexandria, LA. about 170 miles northwest of New Orleans. "All the soldiers were saying 'Let's go,'" said Lt. Col. Jerry Miller, a battalion commander. "The soldiers really want to do something."

Guardsmen from Pennsylvania rode more than 1,200 miles, sleeping in truck stop parking lots, to get to Alexandria - only to find they had no mission yet... The contingent ... has 500 vehicles, and is self-sustaining with the capability to purify its own water and maintain vehicles. The soldiers packed bulletproof vests, ammunition and weapons.

Several sleeper buses full of Pennsylvania troops did get close to the devastation. They arrived at the airfield in St. Tammany Parish on the outskirts of New Orleans on Tuesday morning after 24 hours on the road; they unpacked, only to be told to load the buses back up and head to Alexandria four hours away because Marines and members of the Alabama National Guard were already in the parish.

Col. Joel Wierenga did not hide his frustration when he told his officers the news, and also informed them they might eventually be split up to provide security to utility crews."

6. Orlando local news last night
said that a group of fire and rescue volunteers-hurricane veterans-went to the area and waited for days to help before finally being told to go home. God-FEMA is either colossally inept or a group of genocidal murderers!
