Karl Rove is a figment of your imagination
We are a culture of extremes. We love to package people as the most amazing in their vocation. The fastest - the strongest - the meanest - we love to buy the media packaging that tells us how amazing certain qualities of certain people are. We love to be entertained, and in order to be entertained we create heroes and villains.

Then when the time comes, and it inevitably comes (although there are some truly remarkable people), when the person is shown to not so super-human, we feel like idiots for having believed it...and then go out and buy the next package that's on sale.

Karl Rove is simply the gatekeeper, the watchman, in what so far has been a three year looting of the US Treasury. SEE HIM FOR WHAT HE IS - he's just a con-man, arranging distractions. Don't believe all that is said about his amazing, mythological powers. HE'S JUST A DICK>

1. You're wrong
Karl Rove is the Devil. I know it. I've seen that look he has in his eye in every "Omen" movie. He is Satan, no question.

2. Karl Rove is a MORON
I've never shared the opinion of many that Rove is brilliant. I've always thought he was a low-brow, ham fisted goon with a few obvious moves: Massive full frontal attack, or backstab and bait and switch. He's over rated.

He didn't get the Chimp in by WINNING the election. If he could have done it that way, with smarts and finesse, I would say it was brilliant. To actually successfully sell a defective product takes brilliance. His tactics however, were ruthless thuggery and threats of violence and complete reliance on the Supreme Court. Nothing brilliant there. The Chimps approval ratings skyrocketed because of 9/11, not Rove's brilliance. A brilliant Political strategist would have been able to sustain those numbers. Rove is unable to do that and has NEVER been able to do that. He's a moron and he sucks at his job. He doesn't understand subtlety or nuance or the big picture. He's neither the intellect, the insight or the instincts of a brilliant person. What he does have is vicious ruthlessness in abundance and a propensity to take big risks. That's not brilliant, as a matter of fact, with no sense of moderation, it's quite stupid.

6. both do. When you don't want to believe that an overweight
loser (Rove) can control a country, that is when it is dangerous.
He is a pupil of Lee Atwater and he has refined and developed his skills over time.

8. If he is "Bush's Brain" that explains why Georgie is so stupid!
Rove is evil, he is a dick too, so I guess that would make him an evil dick (Cheney literally falls into that category). I have read some of the stunts that man (Rove) has pulled in the past and he is one scary, ruthless dude. I think he is the cause of the distractions, not the one arranging them.

9. The thing about Rove, Bush, Cheney (and probably Rice & Rummy) is
that they aren't so much IMmoral, they're just Amoral. Generally, an IMmoral person -knows- they are. These people have no moral scruples whatsoever. They operate in a moral vacuum. No thing nor no body who doesn't subscribe to their obtuse and obscene agenda matters...they are simply irrelevant. They have some sort of twisted notion that what is good for -them- is automatically good for everyone. Facts are inconvenient things that are in the way of that insidious notion and therefore deserve to be ignored.

It is a horrific coalescence of hubris and arrogance. Not unlike the core values of most religions. No-one who doesn't accept the dogma can be trusted or allowed a voice. "If you ain't with us, you're agin' us."

We hear that mantra and deride it as an ego/ethno-centric pecadillo, which it obviously is, but it really is the essence of their paradigm. And it's easy to neglect to admit it attracts a LOT of losers with no brains with which to winnow the caviar from the dust (to contemporize an old saw.)

It's possible and maybe even probable that folks like those are simply not educable. Evil does exist...and it thrives in the minds and hearts of these kinds of people. As it does all over the world. I can't imagine how to fix that, but it seems that a recognition of it is a baby step. So where do we go from here? I do not know.
