Why does everyone have to leave NOLA?

(If this has been discussed and missed it, I apologize. I finally slept a few hours)

Last night, I kept seeing (on CNN) the lawyer who swore to be killed/dead before he would leave. He has supplies, is on dry land and looks to be taking care of himself.

An older black gentleman who has supplies, phone service and seems to be in good health and doing just as well.

A white lady who who has water, supples and said she contacted a lawyer about her right to stay of which she says, she does have that right.

All sane and intelligent.
(you can see neighbors around these people, apparently intent on staying also)

I've seen several others interviewed...a mixture of people who have supplies and are capable of making it.

WHAT IS THE REASON THEY HAVE TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN DANGER?

WHAT HAVE I MISSED?

I know it looks like it.

Can it be stopped?

I am not sure if it can be stopped, or if it is really happening, but my distrust for this current administration makes me cast a very skeptical eye toward stuff like this...call me cynical, but the best interests of the "little people" have certainly been outright ignoreed in these times.

They are tearing people out of their homes, I saw one pig cop hit a guy with the butt of a rifle while extracting him from his own home, and tearing the family dogs out of some peoples arms, only to shoot them as they roam the streets later. These fuckers are so low, they not only want to turn America into a third world dictatorship, like Shrub always wanted, but they won't even let us keep our dogs.

during the cultural revolution -- pets were murdered -- people couldn't have pets.

to the evil these monsters wrought, but, if it comes to murdering pets, I can only say that's truly wasteful purely purposeless evil.

1) Pets take up room and resources that could go to another person
2) Pets could carry diseases
3) So many pets in a small area like an evacuation shelter or a bus could lead to fights among the animals and people could get hurt.

That said, I would still want to take my cirtters with me. :cry:

Basically, this is our government's chance to turn New Orleans into a commercial area for only the most elite. They will take the homes from the poor and raze them. Afterward, they will put up condos, resorts, etc. without having to look at all the poor and black faces...

I've seen pictures of stacks and stacks of goods.....but by emptying the city, who's getting the goods?

I know many are still in New Orleans but it just strikes me as odd....to set up a distribution center in a city you're making people leave...unless people are allowed to return and return soon.

The military involvement strikes me more as an exercise than a mission...meaning: it's not about "relief" either or even rescue really(which would be a mission) but feels more like training (exercise)- a dry run, as it were

that were swapmed with toxic sludge to protect people from bacteria, disease, etc. Now that I see them trying to remove people from areas that appear to be safe, it is very disturbing. I don't think I would leave either, and god help any cop that f'ed with my dog.

NOLA is swimming in a toxic mix of chemical and biological contaminants. Any contact with that water could spread disease.

Even if somebody's living on high ground, any contact with that water could cause real problems.

I thought they wanted flexibility to do whatever measures they wanted to kill disease and mosquitos without worrying about people.

1) They need to leave because the area is freaking toxic

2) They need to leave so that the new gentrified NOLA can be built.

I remember a report i read that said someone was pulled out of the water and he had severe chemical burns, and that was a week ago.
