Response to those who say other countries not helping
Here's a list, some of the poorest in the world, who are reaching out. It may not seem like much, but in terms of what they have, it's a lot.

Be sure to pass it on to counter the meme that no one helps in times of disaster but the U.S.

The poorest countries have pledged support to the victims of the hurricane. They include:
n Afghanistan: $100,000
n Albania: $300,000 pledged
n Armenia: $200,000 pledged
n Azerbaijan: $500,000
n Bahamas: $50,000 pledged
n Bangladesh: $1 million pledged
n Cyprus: $50,000
n Djibouti: $50,000 pledged
n Equatorial Guinea: $500,000 pledged
n Gabon: $500,000 pledged
n Georgia: $50,000
n Ireland: $1 million euro (about $1.24 million U.S.)
n Mauritania: $200,000 from the American Mauritania Business Council to the Red Cross
n Mexico: 45 truckloads of supplies, transport vehicles, two field kitchens, two helicopters
n Mongolia: $50,000 pledged
n Palau: $50,000 pledged, plus $50,000 donor drive
n Papua New Guinea: $10,000 to the Red Cross
n Sao Tome and Principe: $18,000 pledged
n Uganda: $200,000 pledged

Please kick this a couple times so people have the ammunition they need. Thanks!

7. Many have offered but HOW MANY has B** accepted? I hear
nothing about us taking any assistance as yet.

Some plane is sitting on a tarmac with a huge water purifier - I can't recall the country.....this is ludicrous.

10. Don't forget all the help that has been granted, sometimes even asked
for :sarcasm: and cannot be delivered because all of a sudden the Bushistas think that would not make good pictures - foreign aid being delivered to the wealthiest country on earth simply because the officials of said country are fucking up.

German help not used, returned, Swedish planes still in Sweden... because the US don't want it.

I'm German and I'm VERY fed up with how the US are treating us who want to help!

And - sadly - I must tell you: Other than my tax money I'm not giving a dime. Because nobody can assure me that my dimes really would assist a flood victim.

My money would more likely than not end up as a bomb killing a Iraqi child.

14. Not if you donate to the Red Cross
That's a private, not federal agency, so there is no way they could get their hands on it.
