A Good night for Dems in Louisiana
Democrat Mitch Landrieu will be our next Lt. Governor. Landrieu won with more than 50% of the vote so he will not need to go into a a runoff.

Democrat Kathleen Babineaux Blanco will face Republican Bobby Jindal in a runoff election for Governor November 15th. Blanco is almost assured of beating Jindal in the runoff.

SUZANNE HAIK TERRELL WAS DEFEATED in her run for Attorney General. Democrat Charles Foti beat her soundly. This one makes me proud :) Suzie has now lost TWO consecutive elections and needs to just crawl back under the rock from whence she came.

Louisiana may be a blue state in 2004 after all. Go figure.

'night y'all
Kayeleigh

3. Another thought....
David Duke and his ilk must be foaming at the mouth. The runoff is between the son of immigrants from India and a woman.

The ol' time racists and misogynists are probably in convulsions.

As Martha Stewart says: "That's a good thing."

7. Take that Suzie!
Losing two elections in the space of less than a year. All I can say is that I am very encouraged by this.

9. Way to go Louisiana!
The November 15th election will also feature another race, between Democrat Robert Wooley and Repuke Dan Kyle for Insurance Commissioner. With all of the Blanco support that's sure to come out, I'm betting Wooley takes this one. That would make us 4/4!

10. it is very good news
unfortunately the national press is spinning it as a victory for Jindal becuz he got 33% to Blanco's 18% winning by 15-points. Still if you combine the Democratic vote it is well over 50% in race for governor, now if all those democrats will unite behind Blanco.

11. Exactly
Without fighting from within the party, Blanco will be able to focus solely on Jindal, and will be able to pull this one off.
