Larry Johnson rocks!

I did a Google search yesterday on Larry Johnson (ex-CIA operative who appeared on Nightline and other shows and railed against the administration about outing Wilson's wife). As I was reading, I ran across his e-mail address and decided to write him.

Believe it or not, he wrote me back, and I thought I would share:

My letter:

"I did a Google search on you and got this address. I hope, however, that I am writing to the correct Mr. Larry Johnson.

"I know that sounds odd, but if you are the Mr. Larry Johnson that has appeared on Nightline and other recent news shows, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your courage and conviction in standing up to the powers that be...for standing up for what is right. You are a true patriot, and I salute you."

His response:

"That's me. Thanks for the kind words. We (my former colleagues) are genuinely alarmed and worried by these abuses. The White House spin about this as politics as usual is a lie and must be shown for what it is.

Larry Johnson"

If you write to him again, send my admiration, too.

That nightline interview with all the ex CIA people was very powerful. In the Newshour interview he also used very forceful language. The man does not mince words. And yes, he is a true patriot. Good job with the message.

I feel that the BFEE is at its greatest vulnerability for exposure. By Nov. 2004, this country will know more about the last twenty years than they ever expected.

I love his reply.....he is very angry about this and I, too, admire him for defending the Wilsons.

was a Repug and a donor so let those trying to debunk the importance of Plame's outing try to argue that this is just a dem political ploy.

I saw Johnson on the Lehrer News Hour, he comes across as and honest person. He was angry, but also very knowledgeable of the intelligence community. Very sharp guy.

So, I figured he'd never see it. Then, about an hour later, he wrote back. My point is, if you get a similar automated response, don't worry...it seems he reads it anyway.

Sometimes, when you follow partisan politics too long, you forget there are still some who are just decent, honest people who only want to do the right thing.
