Novak Needs Sunny Skys

It would please me greatly if Robert Novak were to spend the next year at Guantanamo, visiting with some of our nation's finest interagaters, without aid of counsel to see if they might use the same techniques on him as the do to other enemys of the state - and after all, haveing been a part of the treason which was the naming of Ms. Wilson as a spy Mr. Novak can certainly be considered an enemy of the state. So what say you all to a visit to Cuba for Mr. Novak?

I feel the same way about Gitmo that I do about the death penalty--- no way for anyone, not even Novakula.

His most notable statement: he has no regrets about outing Plame and would do it again.

Also, David Broder said that if Bush would demand the name(S) from his top lieutenants, he would probably get it.

WPost reporter Dana Priest was also there and emphasized the damage that will be done to all overseas who were seen with Plame. If nonverbal communication is accurate, she didn't seem too pleased with Novak or what he did.

I felt that Novak said that but it was part of his "stance" that this is a journalistic thing and not an aberration of the day-to-day life of a journalist.

The best part was when he responded, "I'm not going to play that game," with Russert. That clearly showed he knows he's trapped and the rest is just a facade. I'm not saying he'll suffer penalties but that he does know he's the lowest form of life in the eyes of his colleagues now.

he was the one who initiated the call, not them. He was investigating for a story, and Ms. Wilson being CIA was just part of what he learned and printed. He was already doing a story.

Shifting stories don't stand up in court and frequently mask deceit. In this case, it is Novak who is the liar.

it might have been time to feel sorry for him today. I would like to think he believed he was standing on some great journalistic principle, but he isn't. He did this to better Bus* and Co. Now that it has backfired he is twisting in the wind, playing a hopeless game of trying to save his already damaged reputation AND possibly trying to save his ass. His other mission is to also do no more further damage to the Bus* misadministration.

It was pure delight to watch him stammer around, shift uncomfortably in his seat and inexpertly twist and turn his words to address whatever challenge (no matter how slight, eh Russert?) was presented. He contradicted himself several times in this brief discourse. The woman from the Post did a nice job on him as did the guy off set.

I would love to see him on stand at trial, whether the stakes effect him, Bus* or both!

In my opinion Mr. Novak has knowingly participated in a crime. I am appalled by Novak's cavalier attitude concerning his criminal actions in disclosing the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame. It is a federal crime to compromise national security, and irresponsible for CNN to continue to employ a hypocrite like Novak who believes the laws apply to everyone but himself. Robert Novak should be fired for his participation in this crime. I urge the members of this board to write to CNN calling for Novak's resignation. It wouldn't hurt to write to the sponsors of Crossfire as well.
