"I've been workin' -" really bugging me!

"I've been workin' -" really bugging me!
Yesterday when Bush was told about Brown and he retorted "I've been workin' " -- you know, if I'm trying to console and help someone who is in great sadness or torment, I don't consider that "work." The purpose of his visits were to show that the leader of this nation was hearing their cries and was there to help and to offer condolences and comfort. What a revealing comment - among so many cold-blooded slips that we've heard from this whole administration!
I know it's getting to be old news now, but I needed to get that off my chest!

1. Look at it this way; his statement implies
he usually isn't working, never mind his faux-comfort photo ops!

3. I'm glad you mentioned it. It struck me wrong.
It's almost like during the debates when he kept saying "it's hard work". He is trying to hard to convince people he's actually doing something.I think he at a total loss on how to react without a script.
