It turns out Daddy didn't exist. And neither did Kodee.

The Tribune went to southern Illinois to learn about the bond between Kodee and Dan Kennings, and the life Kodee would face without her hero.

To air a decidedly anti-war agenda. Some misguided fuck who didn't realize that not only do antics like these hurt the anti-war cause, but that you have to be one twisted fucking individual to do something like this. Oy, I'd laugh if it weren't so heart-wrenching...

In southern Illinois, the tale began in 2003, when student reporter Michael Brenner said he was handed a letter from a little girl saying she saw an anti-war protest on the Southern Illinois University campus and that it bothered her because her dad was a soldier. Brenner e-mailed the little girl and, as he learned more about her situation, decided to tell her story.


Remember, the right wing likes to dupe their people with stories of cute white girls in peril. In fact, they hoax them all the time like this. Look at the anti Nagin and Blanco e-mail hoaxes going around.

Will they be charged with anything? Is there anything they can be charged with?

I'd like to know why they did it, but the tribune says it couldn't figure out why either.

It's a weird story, one I wouldn't be surprised by, but I don't get the purpose for pulling off such a hoax.

Maybe this will get played at the Sundance Film Festival.
