Bush will never resign
I know.. its fun to "ponder"... but if you really think there is a snowballs chance in hell it will happen then I've got some "investment opportunities" for you. *tee hee.

No he will never resign because resignation implies personal responsibility - Something that King G knows absolutely nothing about.

1. If I were a betting man, I'd say Bush won't resign
Even if he does resign, Cheney becomes president, and in effect, nothing will have changed.

2. I beleive that he's a LIHOP or MIHOP away from prez for life.
With another attack on US soil, aided by The Patriot Act and martial law he can stay in office as long as he wants for "National Security" reasons.

Do you put that past him?

just entered tomorrow (Wednesday, I think) at 12:04 AM Pacific Time.

14. I always thought those were rather "flawed" acronymns...
Reasoning: if you "let" something happen or "make" something happen... both imply purpose. Therefore, it seems those should be reduced to the standard "3-letter acronym" form ("TLA form" for the home gamers) and become simply... LIH and MIH.

*grin,

16. Is there not a page somewhere here on DU that explains the acronymns?
I, for one, would like to know what some of the others mean. Anybody?

3. Question: When Nixon resigned, was it because....
1) he was taking personal responsibility; or
2) he didn't have the votes in the House to avoid impeachment (in an environment where he had historically low approval numbers)?

Even if Bush doesn't actually resign, building pressure for him to resign can only help at least reduce his power.

I mean, if 40% of the public wants him to resign or be impeached, that's pretty powerful... now, imagine that climbing to 50% and beyond.

The American people can't be ignored that much, and eventually the people will get their way. But we won't if we give up before we even try.

4. Never and forever, tend to come sooner than you think.
I don't see a resignation, either, but after the last five years, I don't rule anything out.

10. President little one will be dragged kicking and screaming,
shrieking and snarling, drooling and yowling from the WH.

Hell, he's been kicking and screaming since 9/11.

Everyone else in his maladministration will at least attempt some measure of dignity in their exit. Their later hearings and trials will strip that veneer of dignity down to its ugly bones.

1. He'll never get a better job than Dictator.
2. Who would hire him? He's shown the world what a fuck-up he really is. He's better off staying where he is indefinitely.

12. Bush will never leave the WH willingly, even after his term is over
Bush will never leave the White House voluntarily, but with an appropriately sanctioned federal or international body, he can be ejected nevertheless. It will take a national strike and shutdown, at the very least.

If he does leave, it will only be for another Bush or a very close proxy.

15. Personally, I don't think it will happen...
...but I can't help but think that it makes a lot of sense for the neocons (and republicans) to have Dubya fall on his sword. It's never been more obvious that someone else is pulling the strings. His approval ratings are abysmal. He really can't blame anyone else for playing a guitar while NO flooded. (Eerily reminiscent of fiddling while Rome is burning, isn't it?) So what does the neocon cabal really lose if they jettison Chimpy? What do they have to lose, besides an embarrassing, inarticulate, detached and unconcerned sock puppet who is only there because his last name ends in "Bush"? Besides, it's been DimSon's modus operandi throughout his "working" career to royally fuck things up and then quit, leaving the mess for somebody else to clean up.

Like I said, I don't think it will happen, but I think the people who are poo-pooing the "Bush will resign" threads are ignoring some logical arguments to the contrary. Just sayin'.
