Maybe people will read this. And by people I mean moderates who might be voting in the election. I don't mean FReeper psychos who dismiss everything they read as a liberal lie.

But how can they ignore it? The freeps have been whipped up into a feaver that Davis is to claim for Enron. This directly contradicts that version of the story. It proves us right, once again.

And kinchpin Rush will not be able to speak against it as he is damaged goods. (But their are plenty of other Limbaughs in the sea.)

Now it's only in the "U.S." section, though still on the front page.

Sigfried and Roy is the top story in the U.S. section.

While Bustamante's kicking Enron butt in court, the Davis Administration is simultaneously demanding that George Bush's energy regulators order the $9 billion refund. Don't hold your breath: Bush's Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is headed by a guy proposed by ... Ken Lay.

But Bush's boys on the commission have a problem. The evidence against the electricity barons is rock solid: fraudulent reporting of sales transactions, megawatt "laundering," fake power delivery scheduling and straight out conspiracy (including meetings in hotel rooms). So the Bush commissioners cook up a terrific scheme: charge the companies with conspiracy but offer them, behind closed doors, deals in which they have to pay only 2 cents on each dollar they filched.

Problem: the slap-on-the-wrist refunds won't sail if the governor of California won't play along. Solution: Recall the Governor.

But why would an Alternet story get into the mass media? I think you guys are a little too excitable.

There is a big jump to get from the internet media to the mass media. And as I've said before, the bar is raised on the day before an election. Can folks in CA tell us if this is being brought up on the ads running on TV?
