PLEASE HELP VETERANS FOR PEACE

Veterans for Peace (http://www.vfproadtrips.org/) is conducting an amazing grassroots effort at Covington, LA. They are reaching people who have not seen FEMA or Red Cross for two weeks since Katrina hit!!!

They need more food and supplies. Most useful thing to send are "family packs", these are packages of supplies for a family of 4 for four days. That saves VFP volunteers from organizing bulk supplies, opening up time to do other critical things. The packages can go directly to the family in need.

They are making efficient use of a message board to send messages back and forth between folks on the ground and remote volunteers. It's also a good place to network and coordinate with other volunteers to pool resources. Please check it out at http://www.vfproadtrips.org/katrina/ -- you'll find lots of ways to help out.
