snip..
"An employee was fired from her $7-an-hour job at the Family Dollar store in Spring Hill after taking time off to rescue two younger siblings from hurricane-ravaged Mississippi, she says.

Kolonie Sims, 20, third-in-charge at the discount retail store, said her bosses and a district manager gave her permission to go.

But when she got back Monday after two days in Mississippi, Sims said, she was told that she no longer had a job.

"I had to get my family," she said. "I had to get them. I went and did what I said I was going to do."

She found them in water in the attic of their home.

Just read the thread, he is a sweetheart. He just announced the worst person in the world who was mentioned on this thread. Family Dollar...what jerks.

Keith is a stand up guy. :bounce:

1. That's Keith for ya!
Standing up for the rights of retail workers against the idiot management that expects them to show up for work "come hell or high water"...literally...or get fired. Sheesh!

2. Here's more. She and her fiance saved a 17 and a 14 year old.
And perhaps the family dog.

4. WOW! I used to work with the guy who started that chain.
He used to buy from the company where I worked. He used to be a good guy when I knew him! Maybe it was the AH store manager!!!! OR, maybe the guy I knew has changed A LOT!

That's a damn shame!!!!!!!

7. If that's the case, my guess is that local mgr will be unemployed
tomorrow! You know somebody who knows him had to see that on KO, and they're going to tell him!

A better thing couldn't happen to that idiot manager either! Always helps teach a lesson when you have to take a little of your own medicine!!!
