I've been thinking about the */bathroom pic at the UN.

The press, it seems, has declared war on *.

And once that happens, forgeddaboutit.

excuse himself? I mean, he can't figure that out for himself?

We've all sat in meetings. You listen to what's going on and wait for something that's less relevant to your objectives and you duck out the door. Apparently he can't tell what's going on well enough to decide whether he needs to hear it or not. Shit!

4. Actually, they have declared him a "lame duck"
They don't need him anymore since he cannot run again and they realize there is more money in kicking him than stroking him for the next 3 years. It's all about advertising dollars and money. It always is.

10. Most of us declared him "lame" prior to November 2000.
But that's another story. :)

15. Oh, I disagree. I think CW is right on target.
I don't watch TV, so I had to wait until I heard on the board how the "potty break" story is playing, but I said to myself that if it takes off, it indicates the end. This is comparable to when 41 puked in the lap of some nice gentleman sitting next to him at a Japanese state dinner. The press kept playing & replaying the video clip. It got coverage like Dean's phony scream. That's when I knew they had pulled the plug on him. If St. Ronald had done the same thing, there would have been a brief comment on the news that He had briefly fallen ill, and that would have been it with no video. If they're not letting go of this one, it means he's done for. His handlers have decieded he is a liability.

12. I haven't seen it on MSM
I had Imus on this morning thinking they might show it, but it didn't happen. That's okay, they irrelevent anyway. This picture was number one picture emailed on Yahoo early this morning. So it is getting out there.

14. I'm betting Olbermann does it.
I sent it to him and I'm sure others did, as well.

That's right up his alley.

And, of course, Jon Stewart.

I'm betting the late night comedians pick it up, too.

11. Agree with the press piling on, CW but
don't forget the humor side of it. Satire is a powerful weapon. Look at the rise on TDS's ratings since the election. Once a leader is viewed as an object of ridicule, it's hard for him/her to recover.

16. He's definitely held up in a contemptuous light in that picture
Reuters is NOT Junior's friend any longer.

Bummer.

18. Ding Ding Ding....
...I read that the photog had just come back from a week in New Orleans...To shoot a legible copy of a note being written by a head of state, while the UN was in session is pushing the envelope of professionalism and the mark of one pissed off hombre. The photo is damning and they knew it....

19. Ah, I had suspected something along those lines.
Last night, when I read that the picture was taken by Junior's personal photographer, my first thoughts were, "Either this guy has/had family in the Gulf States or he loves New Orleans." But his having actually spent a week in NO right after Katrina,... Well, yeah, that would certainly do it. Good for him!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

17. It's always the small, inconsequential things
It's never outrageous statements like "last throes" or "get on with my life".

It's The Dean Scream(tm), the Al Gore "I took the initiative to create the Internet" or "I voted for the $87B before I was against it".

Myabe this is Bu$h's "I feel your pain" moment, the starting point for a suddenly hostile press.

I hate to say it but we need the press to turn this horrific mess around.
