4. Oh heck :( Then again it IS Gallop and they do lie for the Right-Wing

Angela Merkel would be scary, she's mega pro-Junior. She used to be a Communist way back when.

What I've found is that people who go from being extreme left to being extreme right, they tend to be totally HARDCORE extreme right, because I think they have to out-extreme the lifelong extremists. They think if they don't, then they won't be fully believed as a true believer by the crackpot nutjobs.

Merkel is bad news and she'll appoint Wolfgang Schnabel as Foreign Minister, he's a TOTAL neo-con.

:scared:

7. Please...I was JOKING!
I don't know ANYTHING about this race. I was just making a reference to American Gallup being the only poll showing Bush's approval going up even while every other poll has him dropping like a stone.

US, Britain want Schroeder out
Peter Wilson, Europe correspondent
September 17, 2005

A SENIOR European Union official took the unusual step yesterday of saying publicly what US President George W.Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have said only privately: that they hope German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is voted out of office tomorrow.

...Ms Merkel, on the other hand, has promised to improve ties with the US, while still refusing to send troops to Iraq.

The latest survey by the Allensbach Institute, likely to be the last before the election, put support for Mrs Merkel's Christian Democrats, their sister Christian Social Union and their preferred coalition partners, the liberal Free Democrats (FDP), at 49.5% or enough for a slim majority under Germany's electoral system.

11. That is VERY depressing :(

Of course Junior and the Poodle want Merkel in, they've lost Spain, so they'll replace them with Germany. Merkel has the dead black eyes like the rest of the neo-cons...the Poodle included. They have eyes like a shark, just black and dead.

The Killing Fields in the Middle East will thus continue.

13. I hope Germany doesn't elect the Bushbot
More support is the last thing he needs. Merkel will join his fascist rampage.

14. From what I've read about Angela Merkel she's
A Margaret Thatcher type character and a full-on neo-con, which obviously is extremely disturbing.

The German economy is not in that good shape, so that's whats doing it for her. However, considering it's a dead cert that she'll send German troops to Iraq and also take part in the Chimp's other foreign adventures, I'm not sure HOW that will help the German economy, because the foreign adventures will be rather expensive.

The way I see it, the WORST thing that Germany EVER did was reunify West Germany with East Germany, it created a huge amount of unemployment and expenses and they've never fully recovered from this.

15. She said she's not going to send troops to Iraq
of course, she had a differenc story when the war started.

It's possible (very slim) that she won't get a majority, and will have to do a grand coalition.
