From today's "Just Because You Can" column...
CNN 7:50 AM EDT

CNN reported on a family that evacuated to a family member's apartment may be evicted because housing the evacuees violated their lease. They interviewed the landlord, who explained he had a guest policy in the lease that was exceeded, and the 9 people in a two bedroom apartment violated local occupancy ordinances.

The fucker went on to say how HE was iconvenienced by this, saying, "I have a duplex, not a warehouse".

I wish they had published his name and address. I am so pissed I could consider paying him a visit and giving him a piece of my mind.

This world is filled with heartless, soul-less assholes.

1. I second that!
What a sorry excuse for a human being. I think I may have been a tenant of that particular landlord once.

2. I saw that and was horrified!!
He could have just ignored it. God, I would have pretended I did not know or something rather than kick people out on the street.

3. handled poorly
The landlord should have talked to the tenant first. Yes, there are town ordinances that regulate how many people can live in so much space. This town did have that type of ordinance.

After determining how long the additional family would be staying, the landlord should have gone to the town zoning officer and asked for a temporary waiver on the ordinance. I'm sure it would have been granted.

I was appalled at how thoughtless this landlord was. In addition, he just looked like and acted like a jerk.

He had absolutely no common sense.

4. There will be justice for that man, just maybe not today.
I firmly believe that.

Why couldn't he get a zoning variance? I'm sure the zoning board would be lenient, considering the people involved. Those people need to fight him tooth and nail.
