Government subsidy, particularly to the Fortune 500 companies.

That should take care of it.

4. Repealing the latest raise the politicians gave themselves...
EVERYBODY but ONE person voted for the raise.

And in our economic climate, it was not a good thing to do.

No wonder Most Americans are fed up with politicians in general. They are utterly out of touch. :(

12. Good point Paula
In today's world, any ex-president can make $ 15 k a night in speaking fees at least.

There's no need for pensions any more.

I'd also be fotr cutting congressional penssions.

3. Tom Delay said there was no more fat in the budget
so I don't understand? :sarcasm:

Seriously though, it seems to me that GWB is dropping these pearls of stupidity to head off any talk about repealing the tax cut.

5. Or how about eliminating the loopholes
and start making offshore companies pay. That's not really raising taxes, just enforcing them.

9. The $300 Billion/year for
our wars for oil hegemony in Iraq and Afghanistan.

(The wars are not about democracy or peace or Israel -- they are all about OIL -- even the scads of documents on the clearly characterize this mis-adventure as a war for oil hegemony - down load and read that drivel - I did)

10. How about 70% of the "defense" budget?
That would get us out of Iraq and most of the other little escapades that our bloated military is involved in.
