1,900 US Casualties in Iraq, 14,362 Injured

I just updated our War Dead & Injured post. The number of US military deaths in Iraq now stands at 1,900. Total injured is an astonishing 14,362.

The Iraqis don't count so there is no official toll of how many citizens have been killed there. Estimates range from 24,000 to over 100,000.

Far braver then then the cowards that sent you.

i was in 5th grade when i saw a Priest and a marine officer go into
a childhood friend's home. "B**** your brother is dead."

To this day i can tell you were everybody was sitting and what
they were wearing and the color of the wallpaper.

And bin Laden walks free. I want him and all of the money and people
who supported him dead. But no; we now have our forces and money
involved in a country that will become a shi ite theocracy.

Brain Injury Therapy Being Underfunded

March 18, 2005

According to doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., 60 percent of the wounded soldiers coming back from Iraq have traumatic brain injuries.

Unfortunately, the Bush administration has recently completely zeroed out funding for the Federal TBI Act, which provides exactly this kind of help.

In Vermont, due to recent decisions concerning budgetary shortfalls, TBI survivors are now prevented from entering the Vermont TBI Medicaid Waiver Program, which delivers exactly this kind of help.

Please call the governor (802) 828-3345 and our congressional representatives and ask them to support the Vermont TBI Medicaid Waiver Program.

7. I find that very hard to believe
Maybe among some subset of wounded sent to Walter Reed, but all wounded? Bullshit. It's physically impossible.

9. Add three more
There were three killed in southern Baghdad on saturday, with one boy still critical--sent to Germany. The others in the patrol were treated, but no injuries are life threatening. I got this directly from one of the soldiers. It was in the al doura district. But so far these deaths have not been reported in the media, although the families have been contacted by phone. My daughter and I are watching the news for this report, but haven't seen it yet. Two tanks were destroyed--not humvees--TANKS. They were hit by a total of five IED's in the course of thier patrol. These kids over there are being hung out to dry. I am so pissed.
