I realize its 5 days out at best and may or may not develop into a hurricane, but I have to ask... Do you think they will handle this one any better than the last ? Or are our "disaster" resources spread too thin right now ? How much additional cost (or specifically "debt" since apparently tax cuts remain on the table) will this bring ?

Have we ever had a hurricane session that left the "majority" (in terms of coast line miles) of the gulf coast in ruins ?

--No, but they'll look they are. Lots of PR, lots of emergency assistance, lots of talk about how well they handled it.

--The only disaster resources I've seen are the impromptu American and foreign offerings. FEMA? Still a joke and not a very funny one.

--Debt? This administration doesn't have debt. They have 'opportunity costs' or 'America Serves' costs or maybe, 'Spirit of Servitude' costs. Debt? Never. Republicans are the conservatives don'tcha know.
