Oh, sure, now that most evacuees are moved OUT of the shelters. Guess chimpass is too chicken to go himself so he is sending the Stepford Wife. Oooohhh, I hope she gets a hearty f-u like Cheney did.....

The blue-light special speech must not have worked on the poll numbers if they're sending the pickled-puss to Houston. A few shots of her in a church-lady suit laying hands on poor babies is what they always try whenever *'s numbers are sinking. If this is the face of compassion in America, no wonder we're in such trouble.

First lady Laura Bush arrived at Hobby airport Monday morning to make her first visit to the George R. Brown Convention Center.

At the convention center, she greeted the remaining evacuees, which number at fewer than 300 in the center. She also spoke with volunteers as she toured the facility and helped serve lunch.

After visiting the convention center, she made a stop at a Houston-area Home Depot where a few evacuees are now employed and are well on their way to making a new life in Houston.
