I just turned on C-Span 1 and there he was. David Gregory asking about "Bush trying to have it all" - guns and butter (?), fund Iraq, have tax cuts and now he want to put together the largest reconstruction... cut off by Scottie.

What have I missed?

2. "Hey Big Spender"
I am loving David these days!

Hey Scottie, should they have already have been concentrating on eliminating unnecessary spending? Isn't that what "CONSERVATIVE" means, you douche bag in a suit?

We need a photoshop of the "Big Spender" line.

14. Thanks for the kind words.
As far for as our cube rats friends. So far nothing exciting. Life in Perfectville is well... perfect. Bush can still keep all tax cuts and pay for Katrina, the war, and prescription drugs for seniors, with the boundless money mine that he delves in, in Perfectville. So what if his own party says it won't work and we need to sacrifice some of his pet projects.

That's interesting.
She must have come 'round. April Ryan is the one who asked Bush this in the days leading up to the invasion of Iraq:

‘Mr. President, as the nation is at odds over war, how is your faith guiding you?’

20. I think Katrina changed everything
she's gotten much more direct and pointed with Scotty in the last few weeks since the hurricane...especially in regards to race/class and the administration's inactions to those suffering in NO.

9. Of course they're not accurate...
because Scottie et al didn't have a chance to review the news before it was printed.

Sheesh. What a moron. (Or in right-wing lingo, "moran")

11. His usual weaseling non-answers
People asking about Rove being in charge of rebuilding NO, people coming back to NO, who's in charge, etc. His answers were totally nonmemorable BS!

Talking about the jobs going to the people affected.... "We're focused on helping the people in the region." (sure!)

How can that doughy little suck up keep lying?

<The early fall sun shone on Gull Bay as Sydnie took a sip of tea and
crunched into a crisp and tart apple. The climbing rose cascaded off
the trellis and perfumed the air of the veranda as the car bringing her
lover drove up the gravel drive past the Bay Air cubs now fattened up
on blueberries.>

"That's a what if question, chortle chortle"

Now he's quickly heading out the door. The reporters are laughing.

21. I know
We learn absolutely nothing from these press conferences. Scottie's sole purpose is to get through the conference without revealing anything other than the "talking points" that every other republican spouts. You can see the relief on his face when he says, "That's it. See you tomorrow."
