This country has been in a constant state of crisis since * was selected.

(Am I wrong?) This is no coincidence, imo. Of course extreme weather such as hurricanes, resulting from rightwingers' historical neglect of global warming issues, is a wild card which might just take down these bastards. Problem is, the rest of US will descend with them. I feel total despair about any positive outcome right now. It will be absolutely no satisfaction to be able to say to the stupidest among us, WE TOLD YOU SO, even if we did. We will be suffering alongside them. I just hope that out of the ashes of our lives will grow a democracy filled with ethical standards valuing people above corporations, and acceptance of individuality above bigotry and narrow mindedness. Here's to hope!

get even worse before it will start getting better. I don't think nearly enough Americans feel as badly about things as you and unless/until they do it will just continue to get worse and worse. The only bright spot is it will indeed get better, I just don't know if I will live long enough to see it.
