In addition to the clause in the "No Child Left Behind" act that requires schools receiving Fed aid (i.e. all of them) to turn over the ages,addresses and phone numbers of all kids for recruiting purposes....

(which most parents here will already know about and have "opted-out" of)

There is a huge marketing mega-database being compiled for the Pentagon by the Joint Advertising and Marketing Research & Studies Office (JAMRS). They have data on 30 million 16 - 25 year olds.

Follow the links at this site to get your kid off of this intrusive, pervasive list!~

1. You can't really get our kid OFF the list only marked as "suppressed"

What needs to happen is that congresspersons get bugged about this and make a law. There's no reason that, without parental permission, the Pentagon (JAMRS) put minor information into a marketing database and won't remove it.

2. JAMRS isn't the Pentagon, I don't think.. They are a private

marketing firm, and they will take your minor child off the list. Here is a link to the blank .pdf form:

has contract with a marketing database company, BeNow that is housing the data. But make no mistake, it's the Pentagon doing it.

I spend half an hour a couple of months ago talking to one of the military people there about it. He told me that the only way to stop it was to tell your Congressperson and change the law.

Remember to have your child do it for themself close to their 18th birthday. I didn't do this and my child was contacted as soon as she turned 18.
