Anybody been able to call Mississippi?

I haven't been able to call my kids in 3 days. I keep getting that fast busy signal. I have not been able to get a call in to the 228 area code.

I need to be able to call in. Why is the phone service getting worse in that area?

1. I live just one county north of the 228 area code...

LOTS of phones still out here in Stone County, and some people are being told that it'll be November before their service is restored. I'm sure it's much worse southward. Probably 90% of everyone I deal with is relying on cell phones. I work at an insurance agency. We have five land lines plus a fax line and DSL internet connection, but most of our clients only have cell phone service. Good luck getting through to your relatives. I hope service improves soon!

2. Calling from

662 to 601 is still quirky -- and this was a call to the State in Jackson.

I imagine 228 is still mostly under water.
